Fashion...and all that entails.

Let’s Hear It For The Boy

According to all the e-mails and articles I read, menswear is all the rage for fall. I must admit, I love menswear, but it can be a little difficult to pull it off and make it work. (Make it work…I can just hear Tim Gunn now! Can’t wait for Project Runway’s new season. But that’s a whole different blog.)

But, if you start with just a few pieces here and there, it is totally doable. Try on a pair of menswear inspired shoes to dip your toes into the trend. I personally love these from Anthropologie:

Scarf-tied Oxfords

And these lovelies also from Anthropologie:

Sharply Tailored Peep Toes

Both of these would look super hot with a pair of rolled up boyfriend jeans or even a flirty dress with a blazer. And I personally like to go all out occasionally with a full-on suit, complete with vest and tie. In that case, I usually leave off the blazer and make sure to add a really fierce pair of heels so I don’t wind up looking too Annie Hall. And I always add some jewelry to make the look more feminine, whether it’s long strands of pearls or a shiny cocktail ring.

So is anyone else rocking the menswear trend?

I visited Anthropologie today and spent a ton!!! They have sooooo many cute things right now. I like the plaid menswear shirts…very cute. They do have a feminine look to them compared to others I’ve seen elsewhere…a cute little tie back gives them this look. Love it! I won’t be rocking the heels because my feet won’t tolerate it, but they are very cute.
